About the trainer
Training Philosophy
Ivan believes that positive reinforcement and motivation are powerful tools for creating lasting behavior while strengthening the trust between dogs and their owners. To him, positivity does not mean a lack of discipline. Rather, true discipline comes from building trust, creating clear expectations, and motivating a dog to make better choices instead of forcibly imposing our will on them. He believes training should encourage a dog to *want* to work with their handler. By rewarding a dog's willingness to learn and change, owners can create a relationship built on cooperation rather than fear. Ultimately, Ivan's goal is to help dogs and their people develop the communication, confidence, and mutual respect needed to enjoy a lifelong relationship together—one tail wag at a time.
Inspiration
Ivan’s journey into dog training began with a lifelong fascination with well-trained animals and a desire to understand how dogs learn, communicate, and connect with their people. After developing his skills with his own dog, one of his proudest moments came when she earned her AKC Canine Good Citizen certificate—and was the only dog in her class to successfully pass every test behavior on her first attempt. The moment that truly changed everything, however, happened at a dog park. A pet parent noticed how naturally Ivan’s dog responded to him and how comfortable other dogs were around him. She approached him and simply asked, “Do you offer training?” That question became his “aha” moment and opened the door to a new chapter in his life. That first client, along with her Golden-doodle Fozzy, helped turn Ivan’s passion into a profession. Today, he is passionate about helping dogs and their owners build loving, mutually respectful, and balanced relationships that can help prevent dogs from ever needing to be surrendered.
Professional Experience
Ivan has over four years of experience training dogs and continues to expand his education in canine behavior. He is currently completing the Master Class Program through CATCH Canine Academy, where he is deepening his understanding of canine behavioral studies and continuing to develop a positive, scientifically based approach to training. His focus is not simply on teaching dogs commands, but on giving owners the knowledge and practical tools they need to successfully navigate the everyday challenges of living with a dog. Ivan believes that training should be accessible and useful for every owner, while also supporting those who want to take their dog’s skills to the next level.

Ivan is passionate about helping owners develop the foundational knowledge they need to manage the common challenges that come with everyday life with a dog. His goal is to provide owners with practical skills that make their relationship with their dog easier, more enjoyable, and more rewarding. At the same time, Ivan enjoys helping owners who want to take their training further and develop a highly responsive, well-mannered dog. Whether the goal is simply a happier household or taking a pup to the next level, he enjoys helping dogs and their people grow together.
